Introductie NedPhO GO! is onderdeel van de Stichting Nederlands Philharmonisch Orkest. Het is, kort gezegd, ons activiteitenprogramma op sociaal-maatschappelijk gebied. NedPhO GO! is een initiatief dat in 2005 officieel van start is gegaan. Het brengt klassieke muziek bij jongeren binnen en buiten school, bij ouderen en zieken en bij buurtbewoners in de wijk. Ook dragen orkestleden via speciale projecten hun kennis en ervaring over aan amateur-musici en jong talent. De NedPhO GO! activiteiten vinden met name plaats in Amsterdam. NedPhO GO! wordt mede mogelijk gemaakt door de Gemeente Amsterdam, Cyrte Investments en de Turing Foundation.  De Turing Foundation is een nieuw vermogensfonds dat in 2006 werd opgericht door Pieter Geelen en zijn vrouw uit de opbrengsten van de beursgang van TomTom. In Nederland wil de Turing Foundation mensen laten genieten van poëzie, klassieke muziek en tentoonstellingen in musea. In ontwikkelingslanden financiert de stichting projecten op het gebied van onderwijs, natuurbescherming en leprabestrijding. English summary Founded in 2005, NedPhO GO! is the social-welfare activity program of the Netherlands Philharmonic Orchestra, one of the top orchestras in the Netherlands. NedPhO GO! was founded to make classical music more accessible by reaching as wide an audience as possible. The target group of NedPhO GO! is children and young people. The aim is to actively involve them in classical music and to introduce them to the world of the orchestra from an early age and to offer a supplement to mainstream music education. This is done, for example with projects for kindergarten, a project called "Composing with young people" for teenagers, and "A Symphony for everyone" whereby members of the NedPhO, amateur musicians and school children all come together to play a symphony. The members of the orchestra also pass on their knowledge and experience through varied projects with amateur musicians and young talent. In addition to this, ensembles from the orchestra give concerts at surprising and unexpected locations in Amsterdam such as Nursing Homes, the Emma Children's Hospital, the AMC (Academic Medical Centre), the Vondel Park, the Van Gogh Museum etc. With their work, NedPhO GO! shows that music is a universal language that bridges, brings together and embraces all kinds of cultural differences. |
