Working in a highly versatile orchestra
The NedPhO|NKO offer challenging work in a variety of styles within a modern orchestra. The Netherlands Philharmonic Orchestra and the Netherlands Chamber Orchestra accompany the majority of the operas presented by De Nederlandse Opera and also perform regularly in the Amsterdam Concertgebouw. Both musicians and administrative staff are motivated by the orchestra’s broad vision and mission; they support the NedPhO|NKO’s welcoming approach to their audiences and also collaborate actively with the NedPhO GO! educational and social programmes. To work for the NedPhO is to work for the future of classical music.
The orchestra invites internationally-renowned soloists and guest conductors as well as providing performance opportunities for new talent. The orchestra’s repertoire goes from masterpieces from the Classical period up to the latest contemporary works.
The Netherlands Chamber Orchestra performs without a conductor, being led by concertmaster and artistic director Gordan Nikolić. The NKO’s concerts are characterised by their dynamic stage presence and their interaction with the audience. The orchestra demands that all of its members make their own artistic contribution to the orchestra’s work.
